2.The difficulty points of mold design

The difficulty of mold design lies in the design of the inner core pulling slider of the middle cross hole. Another difficulty in mold design is the deformation of plastic parts. The properties of PBT are Milky white translucent to opaque, crystalline thermoplastic polymer. It has excellent strength, toughness and fatigue resistance, high impact strength, self-lubrication and wear resistance, small friction coefficient, small water absorption, good dimensional stability, so it can be used as engineering plastics, but its notch sensitivity is large. High melting point, up to 225ºC, heat and weather resistance, fire resistance, but slow burning. Excellent electrical properties, good arc resistance, but volume resistance, high frequency dielectric loss. Resistant to water, alkali, acid, oil, but easy to halogenated hydrocarbon erosion, and poor resistance to hydrolysis.
PBT plastic is easy to deform, because of its hard texture, it is difficult to correct after deformation. Therefore, in the mold design, it is necessary to pay attention to the mold temperature can not be too high, need to design enough cooling water circuit, cooling time is enough. The wall thickness of the plastic parts should be as uniform as possible. The plasticizing capacity of injection molding machine is sufficient, and the plasticizing is uniform. The thimble is adequate and designed to be properly placed.

3.  The key point of this mold is the gate and water system

In order to prevent the deformation of plastic parts, several water transport circuits are designed and mold flow analysis is carried out.
The mold design cavity is 1*1, the gate is a point gate with 3 pin. A locating pin has been added to the core mold to increase the rigidity of the B-plate and the bottom plate. The mold base is designed with 3 levels of positioning, namely the positioning of the guide sleeve of the guide column, the positioning of the zero-degree positioning block of the edge of the mold base, and the positioning of the tiger's mouth of the four corners of the mold cavity. The mold cavity is positioned with an extrusion block in the length direction.
