1. General information for positioning rack
a. introduction: Positioning rack is a paper-passing part in the desktop office printer, which plays the role of limiting the width of the paper, positioning
the paper and guiding the paper.
b. It is a plastic part with ABS material, the size and weight as below:
c. Size: 204.6*136.70*50.00mm; thickness: 2mm; shrinkage rate: 1.005, weight: 30.7g;
d. Requirement for the surface: no bur, no shrinkage, smooth, no deform.
e. Difficult point: This positioning rack has an adjustment sheet, which is suspended on all sides, and only the bottom is connected horizontally with
the main body. It can be slightly tilted by hand to produce elastic deformation. Please see picture below:

2. Technical analyze for mold design:
a. The positioning racks are generally installed in pairs in the printer. Pull the positioning rackes on both sides in reverse with both hands.And more
we can adjust the width to fit the paper and guide the paper together. Elastic lock after adjustment.
b. We should keep the paper passing side no burrs, peaks, shrink marks and thimble marks to avoid affecting the passage of paper. The contact
surface should be as small as possible to reduce friction.
c. The anti-skid teeth also form the mold undercut inside the plastic part. The difficulty of mold design is the choice of mold opening direction and the
design of two sliders. So which side is cavity mold and which side is core side is very importment.
d. As the shape of the positioning rack is no regular, then we can only make 1*2 to keep the balance during injection.
e. We make injection method of the mold is the side gate, and the gate is located at the toothless part of the root of the rack, which is easy to trim and
does not affect the function of the plastic part after trimming
3. Special point for two sliders.
The slider is driven by inclined guide eject pin. Because the anti-sked gear is on the inner side of the plastic part and the upper part of the gear.
So it is necessary to design an inclined slider in the cavity.
